Meet Ms. Hartin

After graduating from UCF, I chose to build my life here in Orlando, and I truly cherish this vibrant community I've made my home.

I have dedicated 7 years to teaching in public school settings. I'm certified to teach all subjects for grades K-6, as well as 5th-9th grade ELA. With special endorsements in ESOL and Reading, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students, including many ESOL learners over the years. My experience teaching 3rd, 5th, and 7th grade ELA, along with intensive reading, has given me a deep understanding of how to meet students exactly where they are and effectively bridge learning gaps.

I've spent countless hours providing one-on-one support within the schools I have taught. This dedicated time allows me to truly pinpoint the specific skills each student needs to master, utilizing diagnostic tests to identify their unique learning pathways. I have seen firsthand how this individualized approach leads to tangible academic gains on state tests, which in turn boosts a student's confidence and enthusiasm for ELA. I love seeing the progress students make—it's incredibly rewarding when they not only improve their scores but also gain the confidence to embrace learning ELA even more. My ultimate goal is for students to feel comfortable and interested in what they're learning. ELA can be tricky, often requiring background knowledge and understanding across various topics. That's why I love sharing stories and listening to my students' stories, making learning relatable and engaging. Success, to me, can be as simple as a student enjoying a short story or as significant as substantial gains on standardized tests.

When I'm not teaching, you can find me enjoying the Orlando sunshine, whether I'm riding my bike through my neighborhood, diving into a good book, or tackling a challenging puzzle. I love the life I've built here with my family.
